I want to share my fantastic experience with Rawhide Outfitters. From the beginning Cathy was easy to deal with and very accommodating. She worked with me to make our day of floating so enjoyable. John and his whole team were more than helpful and made things so fun for our large group of 44 floaters. The boats were clean and in great working order. The vans and bus were also clean and comfortable. The food on the river was so good and the extra attention that we received was above and beyond our expectations. The bus was clean and cozy, the guides were all nice and competent, the cook was so sweet, the food was delicious, the gold panning demonstration was super interesting, my only regret is that I can’t go every day! Wow, wow, wow! What a fantastic day for our family! Rawhide Outfitters, you are a class operation from start to finish. The attention to detail and the little things that were done throughout the trip made us feel like part of the family (like letting us chose a dessert–yum!). We had an amazing time. Luke was our driver and was so knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, and the river, as was Clint, our guide. Such nice people all around and helped make the trip so fun. The food we were served–both the delicious snacks (homemade granola bars, pumpkin muffins, and chocolate cookies) at the break and gold mine tour (also a nice extra) and the lunch (grilled chicken, pasta salad, potato salad, fresh fruit, corn on the cob, veggie tray, artichoke dip, fresh salsa, banana cream pie and blueberry pound cake) were AMAZING! Kathy, I don’t know how you do it! Our family was in the van with a local family who said at the beginning, “we only use Rawhide. They’re amazing!” Now we know why. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip from start to finish. What an outstanding day on the water with a great family-run company!

Great service from the time of booking, through the changes we made to schedule, Cathy’s personal visit to our hotel and of course the float trip itself. Our teenage girls were not at all convinced at the concept of spending three days/two nights on a float trip but they, like my wife and I, felt it was the highlight of our trip. The organization was friendly, personalised and efficient. The guides, Steve and Nick, were knowledgable and very nice. Food was first rate especially given we were camping. I have no hesitation in recommending Rawhide and hope we can return to Idaho soon.

I just wanted to write and tell you how much I loved the river trip we took with the extended Vince & Linda Johnson family on July 10. My immediate family was on a raft with Grant, and he was a great river guide. I know the other members of the family who went down the river with Clint and Christian were also delighted. We all loved the homemade goodies at the mine stop and the wonderful lunch. Rawhide does an amazing job with everything about running the Salmon River. I feel that every single person on the trip gets personal attention. The guides, drivers, and cooks go out of their way to ensure that everyone feels safe, has a great time, and is well fed. “We went white water rafting to Steve, Gerald, Des, Kimmy and Ricky .The Idaho river was so picturesque and beautiful and we had an awesome time riding the rapids. The Rawhide Outfitter clan was accommodating, social and informative. Steve made sure all the guest were engaged and always made sure we were having fun. Rose Mary cooked the best gourmet lunch ever! I wasn’t really expecting much, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. She also brought along plenty of snacks, appetizers and dessert. I have to stay, we stayed at Triple Creek Ranch (high-end resort in Montana) and I would say Rosemary’s lunch was on par with the TCR’S food. Since I didn’t want to bring my camera on the raft (not waterproof), Rosemary took my camera and followed us down the river and snapped some awesome photos for me! I can’t tell you how much that meant to me. I’ll have these memorized for life. My boyfriend and I accidentally left our hats in the car, I received an e-mail from Des stating that they had found our hats and would be mailing them back to us, without me even having to ask!
